Overview

The unit is responsible for the policy development and adaptation, compliance to legislative frameworks, strategic planning, performance reporting and administration of unemployed bursaries. Core to the functions of the unit is the coordination and management processes relating to mandatory grants and applications, assessment and allocation of discretionary grants.

Critically to the Skills Development and Learning Programmes unit is the facilitation of Audits relating to Predetermined Objectives by internal and external auditors as well as an audit of reported performance by DHET.

TETA
 

TETA was established in terms of the Skills Development Act 97 of 1998 (SDA). It is a public entity that reports to the Minister of Higher Education and Training and operates under the oversight of National Treasury in terms of performance management and financial administration. TETA is a Sector Education Training Authority (SETA) responsible for skills development in the transport sector.
