Mandatory Grants

The SETA in compliance to Grant Regulations must allocate grants to companies that submitting Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR). The SETA processes and remit Mandatory Grants payments to companies fully compliant with grant regulations and TETA policies. Successful applicants (Employers) receive 20% of the total levies paid by the organisation for the financial year.

Levies collected from Employer’s 1% skills development levy payable to SARS are utilised to achieve the SETA’s mandate:

TETA was established in terms of the Skills Development Act 97 of 1998 (SDA). It is a public entity that reports to the Minister of Higher Education and Training and operates under the oversight of National Treasury in terms of performance management and financial administration. TETA is a Sector Education Training Authority (SETA) responsible for skills development in the transport sector.
